This lace up card is something different, and very attractive, for you to try.
To make this card you will need:
|
|
Take your A4 Stardream Mars card and score a fold with your scoreboard at gatefold A4 on both sides, if you do not have a score board the measurement to use is 7.5cm at each end of your card (short side).
Using a pencil and a ruler, measure and mark 5cm from the top and bottom end of each side and cut out a rectangle that will measure approx 50mm wide and 110mm long. Do this on both gatefolds and keep pieces of card for later
Cut a piece of gold foil card to measure approx 100mm x 110mm and then glue this onto inside back of card using photo glue or double sided tape. Use your aperture as a guide to place the foil card in correct position. Then using the Stardream Mars pieces you have just cut out, trim off about 1cm from both the short and long side.
Using photo glue or double sided tape glue both pieces, side by side on to gold foil card ensuring that the peieces are centred. Then cut another piece of gold foil card to measure 70mm x 90mm glue this on top of the Stardream Mars so that the Stardream Mars creates a small border all the way round the gold foil card.
Choose 2 different sizes of card toppers and trim the smaller one, ever so slightly to take off some of the white border then, using 3d pads or silicon glue, stick this on top of the larger topper to decoupage it.
Attach the decoupoaged trees with photo glue on to the layered card
Edge your aperture with some straight peel-offs all the way around.
At the top and bottom of the card, using a hole punch or eyelet tool, punch 3 evenly spaced holes on either side of the gatefold, as shown on the photo.
Thread through the gold ribbon and “lace-up” finishing off with a bow. Trim the ribbon, if necessary.
Place the gold flat backed self adhesive gems in between the lace holes.
Push out 4 of the round gold pieces from the topper sheet, and using 3D pads or silicon glue, attach one in each corner on the front of the card.
Although this appears to be a flat card when finished, if you squeeze in the sides a little of the lace up card this will enable it to stand up.
