Coordinate plum, lilac, and delicate pinks for a stunning yet sophisticated card with just a hint of glitter.
To make this card you will need:
|
|
Push out the decoupage pieces for the lily and build up the decoupage either using 3D foam pads or silicon glue. If using silicon glue, leave to dry, preferably overnight.
Cut the Stardream Ruby card to 140mm x 205mm and the lilac floral swirls card to 135mm x 200mm. Punch each corner on both pieces of card with the inverted corner punch.
Stick the foiled card directly on top of the piece of plum card, using photo glue, and leaving a small border all the way around. Then stick a piece of ribbon across the middle of the card, securing it to the back of the layer you have just created on both sides, then take a smaller piece of ribbon and just tie it into the ribbon around the card, in either a knot or a bow on the left hand side. Using photo glue, stick all of this centrally to the front of the Stardream Opal creased card.
Cut a piece of Stardream Ruby to measure 95mm x 150mm. Punch each corner with the inverted corner punch and glue the Stardream Ruby card to the right hand side of the card.
Take the built up decoupage and glue to the centre of the Stardream Ruby panel using photo glue.
Using a quickie glue pen, highlight the veins of the leaves then sprinkle on the glitter. Shake off the excess and then, using the quickie glue pen highlight some of the veins on the flowers, sprinkle on glitter and shake off the excess. Finally, take the quickie glue pen around the edge of the oval, sprinkle on silver glitter, and shake off the excess.
Beginners Tip: this is a definite case of less is more. You just want to add the odd highlights - not big streaks. If you feel unsure about doing this then the use of the glue pen and adding of glitter can be missed out altogether.
Cut a piece from the left over Stardream Ruby card to measure 80mm x 20mm. and with your scissors trim out some small “arc” shapes on all 4 sides. Stick the Happy Birthday greeting onto this panel. Using either 3D foam pads or silicon glue, position the greetings panel at the bottom of the card and glue in place.
Finish off the card by placing a clear self adhesive gem in each corner of your card. If you've used silicon glue for your greetings panel then leave to dry.
