Card Making Project - Ribbon and Daisies Card

A simple card suitable for a beginner and the instructions have been written for a complete beginner at card making - but you don't have to be a beginner to make this card.

To make this card you will need:

Making the Daisies

Punch 4 daisies from the Stardream Rose paper

Punch 4 daisies from the Stardream Mars paper

Put a mini glue dot in the centre back of one of the Stardream Mars daisies  Glue the Stardream Mars daisy to one of the Stardream Rose daisies so that the petals of the Rose daisy shows.

Glue another Stardream Mars daisy to a Stardream Rose Daisy in the same way.

Reverse the colours with the next 2 daisies so that the Stardream Rose has the glue dot on the back and is on top of the Stardream Mars daisy.

Glue another Stardream Rose to a Stardream Mars daisy.

You should now have 4 double daisies - 2 Stardream Rose on Mars and 2 Mars on Rose.  

Attach a Didi Glue Dot to a pink 4mm gem and place in the centre of one of the Mars on Rose daisy flowers you have made.  Place another pink 4mm gem in the other Mars and Rose daisy and one on one of the Rose on Mars daisies.  On the remaining Rose on Mars daisy place a gold heart peel off in the centre - you'll find the solid gold heart peel off on the Birthday Mix peel off sheet -  in the centre of any of the smaller heart borders.

Put the daisies to one side.

Attaching the Ribbon to the Card

Cut 2 lengths of burgundy ribbon each 70mm long.
Cut 1 length of rose ribbon 85mm long.

Put the lengths of ribbon to one side with the daisies - you are now going to mark the position to place the ribbon on the card with a pencil and ruler.

With a ruler and pencil, and starting at the folded edge of the card, put a pencil mark on the front of the Europa Ivory card at 36mm, 72mm, and 108mm near to the top of the card.

At approx. 70mm from the top edge of the card repeat the measuring and marking at 36mm, 72mm, and 108mm. 

Join up each pair of dots vertically with a faint pencil line to act as your guide.

Cut a length of double-sided tape 85mm long.  Line the tape up with the top edge of the Europa Ivory card on the centre line.
Tip – if you cut the edge of the double-sided tape absolutely straight rather than at an angle you’ll find it lines up easily.  

Following the faint pencil guide line stick the double-sided tape to the card.

Cut a length of double-sided tape 70mm long.  Line the tape up with the top edge of the Europa Ivory card on line nearest the fold. Following the faint pencil guide line stick the double sided tape to the card.

Cut another length of double-sided tape 70mm long.  Line the tape up with the top edge of the Europa Ivory card on line nearest the edge of the card. Following the faint pencil guide line stick the double sided tape to the card.

Take the backing tape from the centre piece of double sided tape and line up the piece of rose ribbon over the tape and stick into place. Take the backing tape from the piece of double-sided tape nearest the fold and line up the piece of burgundy ribbon over the tape and stick into place.  Repeat this process with the burgundy ribbon and the double sided tape nearest the edge of the card.

Attaching the Daisies

Attach a glue dot to the back of the double daisy Mars on Rose and stick down at the end of the ribbon nearest the fold - don't take it right to the end - overlap the ribbon slightly.  Repeat this process with the Rose on Mars double daisy on the ribbon in the centre of the card and again with the Mars on Rose double daisy on the ribbon nearest the edge of the card.

Adding the Peel Off Border and Greeting

Using the Fancy Corners and Fine Borders Peel Offs peel off one of the borders  and stick on your card approx. 15mm from the bottom of the card.  Leave a slight gap of a couple of millimeters from the edge of the fold before sticking down the peel off border.

Using the Birthday Mix Peel offs select Birthday Wishes and stick this just above the border at the edge of the card.

The outside of your card is now made.  

Finishing Off the Inside of Your Card

Using the Birthday Mix Peel offs select Have A Great Day and stick this in the middle on the right hand side of the inside the card.

Attach a glue dot to the back of the remaining double daisy Rose on Mars and stick it to the upper right of the Peel Off greeting on the inside of the card.
