Textured Card and Paper

May 21st, 2011

Textured card and paper is one of our best selling items for card making.  The texture adds interest to the completed project.  Both the hammer and linen effect card and paper are very popular for wedding stationery.

Hammer and linen card are available in white and cream and have matching paper.  There are also matching envelopes is C6, DL , and Square sizes. The square envelopes will take a card 140 x 140mm, 144 x 144mm, and 148mm x 148mm square.

Hammer Card

Hammer looks as if it has been beaten by - well – a hammer. The hammer card that we sell is really bobbly and deep textured on both sides of the card.  If you look very closely, there is a right and wrong side to the hammer. On one side it is more raised on the other more indented.  However, you do have to look very closely to spot the difference.

The hammer card we sell is 260 gsms. It is exceptionally high quality and is called Zetamatt. It will go through most inkjet printers with a reasonably straight paper path and some laser printers.  Printers can very considerably so please check your printer manual as to the maximum weight suitable.

When inkjet printing, depending on your printer, you may find the colour is “truer” on the white than the cream.  It really pays to test the card before ordering large amounts if you intend to print on it.

Hammer Paper

The hammer paper is a really good match to the hammer card as the paper is also Zetamatt. Again there is a right side to it. The right side is the bobbly side where the texture is raised. The wrong side is the side where the texture is indented.

The paper is 100 gsm and is both inkjet and laser printable. If you are printing in colour on an inkjet you may, depending on your printer, find the colour “truer” on the white than the cream. I the exact colour is important, again, we recommend testing on one sheet before buying large amounts.

As with nearly all quality textured papers, there is a slight watermark on the paper which reads: Zeta. The watermark is much smaller than that of Zetamatt’s main competitor – Conqueror.  You may not even notice the Zeta watermark – you really have to hold it up to the light to see it.  If you are using the paper with the matching card the watermark will be barely noticeable.

Hammer and Linen Envelopes

Our hammer and linen envelopes are made from the Zetamatt hammer and linen paper we sell so they match with the card and paper.

Linen Card

Linen effect card has the appearance of a very fine linen so the linen effect is subtle rather than the deep, large effect of coarse linen.  It is completely double sided with the linen effect on both sides so there is no right or wrong side to it.

The linen card we sell is 260 gsms. It is exceptionally high quality and is called Zetamatt. It will go through most inkjet printers with a reasonably straight paper path and some laser printers.  Printers can very considerably so please check your printer manual as to the maximum weight suitable.

As with the hammer card, when inkjet printing, depending on your printer, you may find the colour is “truer” on the white than the cream.  It really pays to test the card before ordering large amounts if you intend to print on it.

Linen Paper

The linen paper, also Zetamatt, is a good match to the card and, like the card, has the fine linen effect on both sides so there is no right or wrong side.

The paper is 100 gsm and is both inkjet and laser printable. If you are printing in colour on an inkjet you may, depending on your printer, find the colour “truer” on the white than the cream. I the exact colour is important, again, we recommend testing on one sheet before buying large amounts.

As with the hammer paper, there is a slight watermark on the paper which reads: Zeta.  If you are using the paper with the matching card the watermark will be barely noticeable.

Laid Card

The laid card has the traditional laid texture to it on both sides of the card. Laid can come in various shades of white but the one we sell has a really nice whiteness to it.

It is a heavyweight at 300 gsm and not suitable for most inkjet or laser printers unless you have a special printer designed to take heavyweight card.  It is excellent quality and comes from the Conqueror range.

Laid Paper

The laid paper is a good match to the laid card. Unlike the card, the laid effect is stronger on one side of the paper than the other.  The side with the stronger laid effect is the right side.

The paper is 120 gsm and is both inkjet and laser printable.

The paper, unlike most Conqueror papers, has no watermark. You do have to pay a premium though for unwatermarked paper although we have tried to keep the price as low as possible.
